Adobe Acrobat or a web publication
Adobe Acrobat makes a PDF file. Denkimedia turns it into a web page: one address per page, reading statistics, and corrections after the document has gone out. The two do different jobs. This page says which is for what, based on the prices published by Adobe Acrobat.
How much does Adobe Acrobat cost?
On November 3, 2026, its public pricing page listed a subscription, with:
- a free plan, Acrobat Reader: open, read, print and share PDFs, free.
- a first paid plan, Acrobat Standard: CAD $19.99 a month, annual commitment billed monthly; Acrobat Pro: CAD $25.99 a month.
Denkimedia does not replace Adobe Acrobat for making or editing a PDF. We take over afterwards: the document becomes a web page that stays online. The Découverte plan lets you try for free, up to 40 pages and 3 months online; the Solo plan costs $59, paid once for this publication. The table below compares the two formats, the file and the page.
A shared PDF and a web publication, point by point
| Criterion | A shared PDF | Denkimedia |
|---|---|---|
| What the reader gets | A file to download, then open in an application | A web page that opens at the address you shared, on a phone as on a computer, with nothing to install |
| Address and search engines | One file, one address, one title | One address per page, with its own title and description, listed in the sitemap. Learn more. |
| What you know about the reading | Whatever your hosting counts: downloads | Pages actually read, hotspots clicked, words searched inside the document, devices and sources, with no cookie. The view counter from Solo, the page-by-page and hotspot-by-hotspot detail with Pro ($219). |
| Correcting after it has gone out | A new file, to send again to everyone who has the old one | You replace the page concerned: the address does not change and readers see the correction |

When Adobe Acrobat is still the better choice
- You need to edit the PDF itself. Its pricing page lists editing text and images, adding and reorganising pages, and exporting to Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- You have documents filled in or signed. Its pricing page lists creating forms, electronic signature, and tracking responses.
- Your document must stay confidential. Its pricing page lists password protection and redaction. Denkimedia publishes web pages, even when an access code protects them.
- Your readers want to keep the file rather than visit a page.
When Denkimedia is the better fit
- You publish a few documents a year (a catalogue, an annual report, a brochure). Each publication is paid for once, and no subscription runs between two issues.
- From Solo, the link is permanent. There is no renewal to keep track of.
- Once search indexing is turned on, every page of the publication has its own address and text that Google can read. Learn more.
- The viewer is designed for keyboards and screen readers, and every publication has a text version. Learn more.
- Statistics work without cookies and without storing your readers' IP addresses.
